About our Pressure Treated Products
Pressure treatment of our solid wood products is made in the factory at an early stage before any processing. Despite of this, signs of this treatment may still be visible in the wood upon delivery. A green tint and or signs of crystallisation (green or black specks) on the surface of wood may be evident. This is normal and will clear with use and exposure to the elements over time. Some wet or damp spots may also be visible due to the way our items are packed for transport. This will dry in a couple of days and does not affect the durability of the product.
Timber is a natural product and splits and cracks can appear, this is due to the changes in temperature and humidity causing the timber to expand and contract. This is to be expected and is not a cause for concern – it will not affect the strength or durability of the product.
If you are concerned about a split or a crack in general if a 2 pence coin will fit easily into it, then we would ask you to contact us with a photo so we can investigate and exchange the affected part if necessary.
Please note that pressure treated products should not have any treatments applied for the first 6 months after purchase to allow it to dry naturally as it may cause the timber to wrap or split.

Please note that some of our solid pressure treated products will require pre-drilling of pilot holes prior to assembly. This is required to prevent wood splitting and not due to structural requirements. Please refer to each product assembly instructions. This is in line with standard industry practices.
